What the site stores about you
Nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts, no logins, and no forms that keep what you type. Getting in touch is a plain email link, so a message only exists if you choose to send one.
Cookies
The site sets none of its own. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing of mine to consent to.
Analytics
I use GoatCounter, an open-source, privacy-focused counter, to see roughly how many people read which pages. It counts page views without cookies and without collecting personal data, and it does not follow you across other sites. If you would rather not be counted at all, switch it off here and the choice is remembered in this browser:
This uses GoatCounter's own opt-out: a skipgc flag stored locally
in your browser (the same thing its #toggle-goatcounter link sets). Clearing your
browser storage resets it. Source: GoatCounter count.js.
Embedded video
The films are embedded from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and they load only when you ask. Each film shows a still image with a play button, and nothing is requested from YouTube or Google until you click it, so there is no contact with them while you are just reading. One click starts the video, the same as any embed. Once it is playing, YouTube's own terms apply to what you do inside the player.
What the site does not use
No advertising and no ad networks. No third-party fonts (the site uses the fonts already on your device). No content delivery networks and no social-media tracking pixels. Everything except the YouTube players and the GoatCounter counter is served straight from this site.
Files you download
The GPX route files are drawn by hand, not recorded, and are checked before publishing to make sure they carry no timestamps, device details, or personal waypoints. A route file tells you where the walk goes, and nothing about me.
